Children of the Corn Official Red Band Trailer
The official trailer for the upcoming retelling of Stephen King’s Children of the Corn is here and it’s actually pretty damn good. It’s old school voiceover, along with the fact it’s not 5 minutes long like a lot of modern trailers makes it effective.
The film describes the events leading up to, and including, the massacre of the adults of a small town in Nebraska by their children, after the adults’ irresponsibility ruins the crop and the children’s future. The movie stars Elena Kampouris, Kate Moyer, Callan Mulvey, and Bruce Spence.
The trailer clearly shows a lot of the film, and more than likely the end, but here’s a few of my daft thoughts as I was watching it.
Eden, played by Kate Moyer has got that perfect cute but sinister look going on and as Isaac replacements go, seems pretty good. He who walks behind the rows would approve.
O.K. I’m not going to lie, when the voiceover said Stephen King’s Children of the Corn as you’ve never seen it before then this scene played, I 100% thought it was going to be a musical.
This made me feel old ,as I can’t tell if Elena Kampouris is playing the visiting adult (Linda Hamilton’s role in the original film), or one of the towns kids who never got involved in the massacre.
More of the musical vibes going on here, “Sometimes you have to be a little bit naughty!”
Looking forward to seeing what they’ve done with this anyway, so far so good.
Children of the Corn, written and directed by Kurt Wimmer (Equilibrium, Law Abiding Citizen), opens in cinemas on March 3, 2023, and will be available on Demand and digital on March 21, 2023.
