Directed by Joseph Rubinstein and produced by Greg Richling and Jonathan Sheldon of Pfonetic, following their successful Immediate Family documentary, Give Me A Word: The Collective Soul Story shares the fascinating, foot-stomping tale of a band filled with big dreams and the drive and determination to achieve them. This inspiring music documentary follows the triumphs and tragedies of these living legends and is set for its UK debut on 7 July 2025, courtesy of Miracle Media.
The film delves into the heart and soul of the band from the initial line up comprising of siblings Ed Roland and Dean Roland alongside: Will Turpin, Ross Childress, Shane Evans, to the band as it is today with Ed Roland (vocals/guitar), Dean Roland (rhythm guitar), Will Turpin (bass/background vocals), Jesse Triplett (lead guitar/background vocals), and Johnny Rabb (drums/background vocals).
This fascinating documentary captures the family dynamic, hard-won experience and endless creativity that defines Collective Soul’s lasting legacy. Filmed at Elvis Presley’s former Palm Springs estate during the recording of their latest album Here to Eternity – they’re the only other artists to have recorded there – the film pairs new footage with rare archival material taken throughout their lengthy career, making it the definitive portrait of the American rockers.
Collective Soul’s longevity and enduring brotherhood is extensively explored in this eye-opening documentary with founding member Ed Roland reflecting, ‘That’s the forte of this band, we discuss things together, we figure them out together and we make sure to get everything right.
