B.R.I – Body Recovery Immunisation story, kidnapped, homeless ex-soldiers from around the world being transformed into unstoppable operatives by a morally ambiguous mad scientist in London promises a gritty, high-octane ride packed with a cocktail of dystopian sci-fi, military grit, and a healthy dose of moral vengeance. But, does it live up to the expectation?

The film centres on the “Body Recovery Immunisation” (B.R.I.) programme, a sinister operation masterminded by a cold but compelling scientist. Homeless ex-soldiers, broken and discarded by the very governments they once served, are abducted and subjected to brutal experiments. They’re “repaired,” rebuilt, and sent out as deadly pawns on missions to topple corruption worldwide. Think Frankenstein meets The A-Team, with a splash of Robocop’s commentary on humanity.

While this is undeniably a movie brimming with big ideas, its execution isn’t quite up to the task and it falls short in a few places, while excelling in others. I guess it suffer from the usual low budget Brit led action movie problems, plastic sheets hide a multitude of sins.

There’s some nicely shot stuff in here. The action sequences are brutal and kinetic, with a focus on hand-to-hand combat. While the budget might not match that of Hollywood blockbusters, the cgi is awful in the best way, the fight scenes are raw, visceral, and put the audience right in the thick of the chaos. Yes they’re typical low budget scraps, but we’re here for that, right?

There’s a lot of time spent showing the BRI subjects doing pull ups in the gym and punching bags and I found myself wondering if they were ever going to actually get into a battle of any sort.

When they do, let’s just say they’re no Captain America style super soldiers!

BRI will appeal to fans of low budget sci fi and martial arts action films, it doesn’t set the world on fire, and you may find yourself asking What in the name of Terry Stone’s Tony Tucker is going on with the hair?

B.R.I. flows through these soldier’s bodies but revenge flows through Dr Marco’s. Will his mission succeed, or will the laws of nature get in the way? With non-stop action, Elite Force – B.R.I. will send shockwaves through your screen. Sign up for Elite Force – B.R.I. and let battle commence.
