The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live brings us back to the post-apocalyptic roots of the megabeast that is The Walking Dead franchise.

This series focuses on the story of Rick Grimes and Michonne, effectively capturing the grim atmosphere and intense survival themes that made the original show a hit.

Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira deliver compelling performances, reigniting the chemistry between Rick and Michonne while exploring their emotional journey in a world overrun by the undead.

The show balances character-driven drama with treat zombified action sequences, maintaining the tension and unpredictability that fans expect.

I fell off watching TWD after about series 8 when it just went all talky and boredom inducing with one zombie every three eps. Happily this doesn’t fall into that trap and has just enough zombie action in every episode, with some really nice variations on the theme meaning it feels more like a continuation than a cash in extension.

Overall, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live is a must-watch for fans of the franchise, offering a nostalgic yet refreshing return to the world of the undead and this Blu-ray release offers a superb picture and sound experience. The extras are, lets just say a bit on dead of the undead side, with a trailer and a making of featurette. However, that featurette is pretty damn good and well worth a watch.
