What the next Gen Ordered?

Warning: The Order is rated 18 and therefore all video’s in this post are also.
When The Order 1886 was released in February I had enough games to play, and so added it to my “Under £15” list. Last week I managed to snag a copy from Asda for £10
What immediately struck me about the game was the absolutely beautiful graphics, this game screams NEXT GEN at you. Then it dawned on me, I wasn’t really playing a game, I was interacting in an animated film.
Here’s the first 40 minutes of gameplay if you wanted to see what I meant

The “gameplay” mainly consists of QTE’s (Quick Time Events) that expect you to press Triangle, or wang the R stick in the right direction within a nanosecond. Then a lengthy cutscene followed by a “hide behind stuff and shoot people” section, followed by more cutscene and QTE. The graphics don’t alter between cutscene and game, that’s how beautiful it is.
This led me to think about current “next gen” games. There have been no games with standout graphics that have had spectacular gameplay, have there? Still now in October 2015
Are we therefore to believe that we can have the consoles eating up all of their processing power doing lovely visuals or groundbreaking gameplay, but not both?
I was pondering this but then I got to this bit in the game and nearly shit my pants
