Prepare for some Wickedly Evil thrills and chills, in this comedy horror caper that sees a group of incompetent criminals lay low and get laid low in the remote Irish countryside.

The film is set for release on the 13th of November from 101 Films.

Originally titled, “Bad Things In The Middle Of Nowhere” which pretty much sums up it all up tbh.

Frankie (Joseph McGucken – The Doireann Project), Dancer (James Farrelly) and Gaz (Darryl Carter) have successfully robbed a notorious Irish crime family, but that’s the last thing that goes right for them…

One of them gets shot, one of them is missing completely and it turns out that Dancer’s kidnapped the mob bosses younger sister (Louise Bourke – Who We Love) too.

Add into the mix a well meaning neighbour Sadie (Cat L. Walsh), the recent disappearance of a local couple and the police investigation and the situation gets a little more complicated than the lads would have liked.

Then, things get worse. Somethings not right about this place…

Just a warning, the sentence that is underneath the photo below is a bit of an overall “spoiler”, so if you don’t want to see it stop reading before the photo.

This low budget thriller is well shot, with the night time scenes being well done. It’s also got some fantastic dialogue which for me, probably saves it. When used, the make up and effects are great. The characters are all well formed and you quickly get to know their personalities. It’s a fun ride.

There are moments where I couldn’t understand a word of what was being said (that’s an impressively thick Irish accent you have there) but it didn’t affect my overall enjoyment of the film.

There is possibly my favourite Werewolf transformation scene ever to make it to the screen in this film. In low budget films there’s often little moments that elevate them, and this whole sequence and dialogue within is just fantastically hilarious.

With its blend of boisterous humour and a totally twisted narrative, you won’t want to miss this Wickedly Evil horror-comedy.

Take a trip to the Irish Countryside when Wickedly Evil gets its digital release courtesy of 101 Films on the 13th of November 2023, what’s the worst that could happen?
