BAM! – Review
BAM! written and directed by Jordan Tragash, is a chaotic, indie ride through the streets of Chicago, where the gig economy collides with personal chaos. The film does a fantastic job blending humour and drama, offering a glimpse into wild lives of its characters.
Watching it, you get pulled into the misadventures of a non-binary bike messenger delivering “cheeky”, discreet if slightly unhygienically packaged parcels, two sisters caught up in the art world’s oddities, and a pair of roommates dabbling in some dodgy deals. The movie’s charm lies in its vibrant, queer energy, and the offbeat humour really hits home.
The direction by Jordan Tragash captures the city’s hustle and bustle brilliantly, It’s beautifully shot with a great soundtrack giving it a real indie spirit—raw, authentic, and a bit chaotic, but that’s the point. All performances are solid, with great on screen chemistry between the characters. Even the characters in smaller parts feel fully fleshed out. With a runtime of just under 80 minutes, it’s a quick and entertaining look at survival in the modern world, topped with a dash of unexpected heart. If you’re into character-driven stories with a quirky edge, BAM! delivers.
